Star Musician Announced its 2012 Semi-Finalists!
Washington DC and Los Angeles CA, April 20th, 2012: Star Musician is proud to announce the Semi-finalists for its 2012 competition. These talented singers and musicians are competing to win a grand prize that includes:
- A joint album to be written, produced and recorded with the guidance of our judges
- One video each for the vocalist and instrumentalist to be directed by Siros Kerdouni
- The opportunity to promote their album through major US based Persian media outlets
- Two collectible guitars (for vocalist and instrumental) each signed by a famous Iranian musician or singer courtesy of IranProud.com

Star Musician is extending their Registration Deadline to February 15th, 2012!
Washington DC and Los Angeles CA, February 15th, 2012: Star Musician is proud to announce that it has extended the deadline for registration to March 15th, 2012. In the past few weeks Star Musician has received many inquiries and requests from potential contestants to extend the deadline and provide them with more time to enter the contest and upload their video.
Star Musician would like to encourage all interested vocalists and instrumentalist to register for the contest at their earliest convenience, so that they have adequate time to record and upload their video as well.

StarMusician.com continues to post their "Video Of The Day" as they highlight a different Persian vocalist and instrumentalist from around the globe. These videos that are being shared virally, along with the VOA interview and Javanan cover have led to the website attracting more than 35,000 visitors per week
Interested contestants still have until February 15th, 2012 to register and upload their video.
About Star Musician
Star Musician is a culturally focused talent competition, seeking the best amateur Persian singers and musicians between 15 - 35 years of age, and providing them with a unique platform to perform. It aims to be the leading talent competition for the Persian Diaspora, with dual goals of preserving the musical heritage of Iran and nurturing the growth of new singers and musicians, by exposing all forms of Persian music to a broader audience.
Our panel of distinguished judges, which include Persian pop icon Andy Madadian, legendary producer Farokh "Elton" Ahi, Grammy nominated guitarist Ardeshir Farah, renowned lyricist Paksima Zakipour and the highly sought after Director Siros Kerdouni, will narrow the list of contestants to 40 quarter-finalists (20 vocalists, 20 instrumentalists). These 40 contestants will be featured during a broadcast program on RadioJavan.com, IranProud.com, Chizomiz.com and of course StarMusician.com
The quarter-finalists will have their submission video posted on StarMusician.com. From then on, the contestants' fate is in the hands of the public, who will vote to narrow the list to 20 semi-finalists (10 vocalists, 10 instrumentalists). The semi-finalists will then submit a second video performance as the public is asked once again to vote, to determine the Finalists.
The 10 Finalists (5 Vocalists, 5 Instrumentalists) will then submit their third and final video performance and the public will vote one last time for their favorite contestant. The Finalists will be invited to Los Angeles, California, where they will perform before a live audience of 2000 guests, at the Saban Theatre on June 9th, 2012. At the Awards Ceremony, the two winners from each respective category will be announced based on their cumulative average of all three videos as voted upon by the public. The Ceremony will then be aired on StarMusician.com, as well as our sponsors mentioned above
The winner of Star Musician from both categories will go on to record a joint album as well as one music video for each written, produced and directed by our judges.
